Gum Asafoetida is the specie of the giant Fennel plant belonging to the
arsely family. The plant is perennial, growing 12 feet high having fine leaves,
fleshy taproot and bearing yellow flowers. The liquid that exudes from the
plant turns into a dark/deep yellowish brown resin when dried. This property
of the resin has led to it being termed as Mistress of Spices and Devils Dung.
Significance:
Let alone the uses of Hing in the pharmaceutical industry for curing various
